Total Commitment: High Life cycles, High Performance, High Standards, Great People!
Buffalo Air Handling’s history traces back to 1878 with the formation of Buffalo Forge Company. From the primitive blowers of the fan soon came the idea for the “Hot Blast” systems for circulating heated air through pipe coils which were heated by exhaust systems. In 1896, a system was designed to chill as well as heat the air in the Sullivan-designed Auditorium Hotel in Chicago. From there it was a just a few steps to designing and implementing fans to circulate the air. Custom air handling units emerged as a market niche in the mid 1950’s and grew along with the critical needs of the hospital, pharmaceutical and laboratory markets. The Buffalo Air Handling facility in Amherst, Virginia, was built in 1977 specifically to manufacture air handling units. Buffalo Air Handling continues to innovate and design high quality, long lasting air handlers.
